The good stuff

The visuals are way sharper than I expected. The remaster keeps the original’s pixel-art vibe but cranks it up to 4K 120 FPS - it looks clean without losing its nostalgic edge. Shooting a bandit from across a dusty town square felt satisfying in a way that only a well-tuned first-person shooter can. The new weapon wheel makes switching guns fast and intuitive, especially when you’re dodging bullets in a shootout. And the motion controls? They’re not essential, but they add a little flair when drawing your revolver or reloading. Plus, cross-play multiplayer means I could team up with friends on different platforms - no more being stuck in a solo game because everyone else is on PC.

The not-so-good

It’s still very much a game from the late 90s under the hood. Enemy AI doesn’t react much beyond walking toward you and shooting. You’ll run into them, turn around, and they’ll just keep firing at the same spot. It’s not frustrating, exactly - it’s just… predictable. Also, the campaign is short. Like, really short. If you’re looking for a 20-hour story, this isn’t it. And while there are 26 achievements, most are tied to simple tasks like “kill 50 enemies” - fun if you’re into completionism, but not exactly deep. The lack of info on the developer or license is weird too. Feels like a ghost project.
