The good stuff

The Red Light, Green Light mini-game is way more intense than I expected-especially with the AI reacting faster than a real-life game master. I died twice in a row because I blinked too hard. And the cosmetic items? The orange jumpsuits and those little black masks are super on-brand. They’re not just skins-they feel like part of the story. I even got a back bling that’s basically a giant red light sign. It’s dumb, but I’m here for it. And the creative tools? Yeah, they let you build your own Squid Game maps using props and devices. I made a tiny version of the glass bridge with blocks. Not perfect, but satisfying enough to keep me playing after the official event ends.

The not-so-good

But it’s not all smooth sailing. The whole thing is tied to a limited-time event, so once it’s gone, it’s gone. No save files or permanent access. Also, the game mode only runs on specific servers, so if you’re not online during the window, you miss out. And honestly, the game feels a bit thin outside of the core mini-games. It’s not a full new game-it’s more like a themed party with snacks and music. Plus, the version info and downloads aren’t listed anywhere. That’s weird for something supposedly available on Windows. I’m guessing it’s just a temporary patch for the main Fortnite client, which means no standalone download. If you're looking for a full game experience, this isn’t it.

If you’re already into Fortnite and you’ve seen Squid Game, this is a fun little side trip. It’s free, the content’s tight, and the vibe matches the show’s tension without being too heavy.
